This is where were at: Elises teacher, school nurse and special ed coordinator all love Elise and support anything we want to do to help her succeed in school. The principal, not so much as youve all heard. Things seemed to be getting better after a couple meetings with her, but again shes being difficult. I want to send the parents of Elises class a letter telling them about her compromised immune system and if theyd please call ME if their child has a serious contagious illness. (Flu, chicken pox, mumps, all can be dangerous or fatal for her right now.) she says they cannot distribute the letter because they canny release medical info. I keep reiterating that I AM the one who wrote the letter and I AM the one releasing the info voluntarily for the sake of my daughter. Nope. (These letters are pretty common in the cancer kid world and no one else Ive spoken to has had a problem.) Im awaiting a response from her, but in the meantime, Im very tempted to just stand at the gate and pass the letters out myself. Im so tired of fighting with these people. Of fighting with HER! Why dont they want to help us? Why do they want to put her at risk?! What else can I do? Who else can I complain to? The school board is useless, just like the principal and Im just sick of them all.
