This is why I was shocked to find out the Philippines has never held a single Liberation Day parade or any celebration whatsoever since the end of WWII. So many Filipino & U.S. soldiers, airmen and sailors, even civilians died in the defense and liberation of the Philippines in WWII and yet the people were never allowed to express their gratitude. How could we let this happen for the last 69 years when the tiny island of Guam has been holding annual Liberation Day (July 20 ) parade and festivities since 1945?!
