This is why Im so passionate about helping out the volunteers and animals at this shelter in Roswell NM! There is no reason to be murdering the dogs and cats that wind up in this hell hole! This is Chester . . . he was MURDERED TODAY BY ROSWELL ANIMAL CONTROL because his TIME WAS UP, even though the pound was half empty, so his cage was not needed. He was a healthy, 2 year old, who wanted to live. CITY ORDINANCES do NOT specify that the dog has to be euthanized… be euthanized after 7 days . . . it says disposed of in a humane manner. ROSWELL OFFICIAL ARE CHOOSING TO INTERPRET IT AS A RIGHT TO KILL THEM. There needs to be an outcry every time a young, healthy and adoptable dog has his life snuffed out intentionally. PLEASE CONTACT ROSWELL CITY COUNCILORS AND POLICE CHIEF, and continue to voice your concerns about this cruel practice. 1/23- RIP!!
