This is why there are so many people trying to flee Viet Nam ! No freedom of speech ! The Communist government of Viet Nam is doing everything that it can to have total control over social media including those overseas based like Paltalk and Facebook . Although Viet Nam does not ban such social media completely and creating their own like China , it still bans and blocks the people from using it as much as possible . The government pays millions of dollars per year to train an army of cyber policemen , to secretly follow each persons account on these social media to see if he/she talks badly of the regime or not . At least two people had been arrested and jailed for speaking the truth about the government on Facebook . The number of Vietnamese using Fakebook has swelled to over 22 millions with hundreds of dissidents resorting to it as a platform to voice their criticisms of what the government is doing in Viet Nam , especially of their violations of human rights . Unable to shut them up on Facebook , Viet Nam has resort to the dirty tactics of using hundreds of thousands of these cyber police to make fake reports on these dissidents accounts , making use of the automatic lock down program that Facebook currently has . As the result , over the last month , hundreds of accounts had been blocked wrongly by Facebook , causing headaches for both users and provider . Although most of them are able to regain their accounts after sending in a copy of their id , some were scared into silence and those who were not fluent in English struggled with the procedure . This also has a potential psychological effects on the people and even overseas Vietnamese living in free and democratic countries were targeted . Freedom of speech is the most basic of human rights . Please help us keep our voice on Facebook by signing the petition below .
