This is why you need to teach young kids about debt. The freedom that can be had by staying out of debt is amazing. I have done the math and If I would have invested the money I had on loans from when I was 18 to 26 I could have bought the house I am in with cash by the time I was 30 and this house was brand new. That is just the money I wasted on toys I didnt need, I guarantee I wasted a lot more on Mountain dew and Fast food that I never calculated. The younger you understand this the better your life will be. I cant wait til my house is paid off and I am 100% debt free. Then I get to be generous and content with my income.
