This is wrong on SO many levels! A child is denied lunch at SCHOOL, but a convicted felon is guaranteed 3 HOTS & a COT. I would like my tax dollars to pay for school lunches nationwide instead of 3 meals for inmates. Take the same budget that was used for feeding inmates and apply it to school lunches and any left over funds going to school backpack programs or to homeless shelters....those people are living on the streets for various reasons and just trying to survive - they certainly deserve a descent meal over a rapist, child molester, murderer, etc... Stepping down from my soap box now.
