This isnt for shaming people. This is what is going on in CA with water. Yes I have heard the increased areas have had conservation ethics in the past two decades. For that I applaud you. However, look at the sacrifices the rest of us have made. Governor Brown stated that he wanted a 20% decrease in water consumption this year. California consumed 1% more (State Water Resource Board) Look at this 3rd party map to discern for yourself what is happening with the water in CA. Shame on you for thinking CA is in a drought. NorCal is doing just fine, So Cal is sucking us dry....and not enforcing the conservation limits set forth by the Governor of CA. I live in the City of Shasta Lake, I have penalties set forth of a consumption rate more than 50%....In two days I get a chance to go home to SoCal. My guests, one of which resides in Lancaster, has said their are no restrictions yet..... I will post the CDEC website that shows who has the most water in CA. Shasta Lake retains the most, but look at Pyramid Lake, 93% of capacity....controlled by the Los Angleles Metropolitan district. Set aside that the Westlands Water District has set a large sum aside alone for ONLY the study of the Shasta Dam Raise. Let me quote the President of the Shasta Lake Business Owners Association, The businesses and Permitees (of the Forest Service) are not in opposition of the SLWRI (Raising of Shasta Dam, Enlargement of Shasta Lake), rather we have tried for almost a decade to work with the federal agencies that govern us, as well as the elected officials. We have seen minor progress in our approach, but no tangible action from Congressman Herger, Congressman LaMalfa, Senator Feinstein, Senator Boxer, or any any elected representative that resides in, or controls, where the water flows in our state. This current map provides an example of what is happening in the state.
