This isnt the Statesboro I knew my freshman year. Over the course of the last calendar year Ive witnessed countless blatant acts of discrimination against people of color here, everything from racial profiling to the bars to the infamous Plantation Room. Its sad to see that racism still rears its ugly head into our everyday lives at will but its even sadder to watch people act as if theyre outraged for all of an hour and carry on with their lives. Wherever hatred lives, we have failed as a people. I wont be here next semester but I pray that things make a turn around for everyones sake.
