This just becomes more precious. No secret this has been the worlds worst month on my life, but we are so damn blessed. Ppl take the time to stop abs reach out to us that telling us we inspire them with our relationship. Weve heard it so often during this week Ive been hospitalized and while weve been at our emotional worst. Just as we left another of the nurses came in to sit with Donnie and I and shared how happy seeing us together made her. How touched she was by our bond. We all ended up in tears. Im going home in a wheelchair for now, and my Daddy is still gone, and Im still sad, but Im SO THANKFUL for a marriage nothing can shatter. For the lessons weve learned in how to grieve and ease each others pain, when the pain is bone deep. Thankful most of all to those that do take notice and learn from us the way we learn from others. As Donnie said today, theres just something about us thats special. Theres a purpose and a responsibility that comes with such a gift. We will readily step up to the plate and try and be worthy of such a divine promise of faith, hope, and love. Well never be the same after losing Daddy, but hes already led us down a path to being better people with a stronger bond.
