This last Sundays message by pastor Dave Richards sent me to the alter on my knees. It was from James 3:1...In summary, we all stumble. How do we stumble ? 1) Making wrong decisions that are not in the will of God, 2) Wrong attitudes that are reflected by our tongues, wrong tone, quick speech,gossip,criticism etc, words will work for, or against you long after you sopke them, 3) Wrong Assessment- Discernment is better than assumptions, assumption is the mother of all disasters, we assume people, our children etc, how good is your assessment ? do you act based on assumptions ?what really do you know for a fact before you act or talk? 4) Having wrong expectations as a church ( or as an individual)- in my zeal do I demand something that others cannot produce eg demands on your children, spouse, employer, subordinates, pastor etc ? 5) Having wrong expectations on how God will do things- how fast you want Him to do things. Will God find faith in me to receive His gift ? Conclusion- we stumble, we do wrong things, but there is redemption for a repentant heart.
