This last week I have been asked, why I named Arvak, Arvak. I forget that so many of you are new to the story of this beautiful Sorrel Mustang, who has touched my heart and changed my life. I chose to name him after one of the sun goddesses horses in Norse mythology. It was said that Sols chariot was carried across the sky each day by her horses Arvak and Alsvid. The goddess herself only produced the warmth of the sun and the daylight actually came from her horses manes. He is the color of fire, with a long flaxen mane. He is beautiful, strong and had this quality about him that made me think of the gods. Untouchable, powerful and admirable. So there you have it. :-)
