This link has been shared and viewed by many abolitionists but I am not sure I saw comments related to what I am about to say here. My comment is related the area of when do you call the police?. As many of us know, something like this is not that rare. But often it becomes a bit fuzzy as to when we should call the police. We have angry, irate, and demonic people in our faces all the time. But we dont always call the police. One threshold that I have found to be helpful in answering this question, is when anyone throws, food, water, or spits , on myself or on those I am with. While many of us can certainly handle such behavior and are tempted to just let it go, I dont think that is a good idea. For one, it is illegal for anyone to throw things like food and water at you or on you. But secondly, I view it as a serious sign of escalation in the person. They are already demonstrating a lack of self-control that is of someone who breaks the law. They are already showing a serious irrational behavior that is dangerous. Thirdly, what are they going to do next? In other words, when they become frustrated that their water-gun is not enough to make you leave or shutup or satisfy their desire to harm you, they will then resort to something else which moves into the realm of them striking you or more serious forms of assault. So while it can be difficult at times to decide if you should call law enforcement, I HIGHLY recommend that you put in your brain a setting, that when someone starts throwing things at you or spitting on you, you immediately call the police. This will make it easier for you to decide in the heat of the battle. Decide ahead of time what you will do. https://youtube/watch?v=Ml4DMDMAX2M
