This little handsome Warrior is Graham: Grahams Gift Graham is # 6 of 8 children,and lives with his family in Fridley,Minnesota.Graham loves to play Lacrosse,and making bracelets to help earn money for cancer research! Early in 2013 Graham noticed a little pin sized red bump on his arm,went to the pediatrician was not concerned, however Grahams mom ( Cheryl Trocke Fowler ) requested that he have a biopsy(shave),because it would bleed all of the time. The doctor did do the biopsy,but was not worried. When the mole came back, it came back Odd however Graham liked to pick at it a lot, so the odd look was passed off because of that,but just for precaution,he was seen by a Dermatologist who also was not concerned,however still chose to do a punch biopsy this time just to be safe,and after sending the slides to several labs,Graham was give the results of Melanoma. Grahams Margins were not clear,so they had to go in two more times , and take more, finally needing to perform a wide excision,and SLN biopsy, with the results coming back Malignant Spitzoid Melanoma,Clarks Level 5,Breslow Depth 5. Graham is followed by Mayo Clinic and being watched closely,including PET scans,and Labs every 3 months for the first 5 years.Graham also had genetic counseling done,where they found some gene mutations,including the deletion of 9 & 11,also adding that Grahams paternal first cousin had melanoma as a child as well, so it is in the family. Graham has had a tremendous amount of pain in his leg, since he had the SLN done,and it has been so difficult for him because he has not been able to play Lacrosse like he normally does,its heartbreaking for his family to have to watch him sit on the sidelines, when he should be out running around like other 4th graders.This past year has been such a struggle,even making it to school for an entire week at a time,has been hard to do,missing out on field trips, school pictures,and parties..
