This lovely promenade day dress was made in London in 1868. It is a cream silk with a squared neckline, slight bell shaped sleeves and an natural waistline. The apron has rushing at the bottom. It is adorned with petals outlined in a dark brown braid and touches of lace. This dress was probably made by a professional seamstress as there were no makers marks in it. This is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
