This makes ME sick!! ...while conservatives would like to pull the wool over America’s eyes and state that racism is dead, the reality is that we are not living in an era of post-racism. Besides the repeated attempts by states to restrict voting access, require voter IDs and destroy the franchise for anyone besides Republican-voting white people, we see disgusting displays of racism thrown about on a nearly daily basis. Much if it is directed at our President. ...the fact remains that racist depictions of our first black President have not subsided. This float was created by a local resident of Norfolk, NE who wanted to participate in the parade. While one woman was offended (an immigrant from Kenya,) the townspeople loved it and it received an Honorable Mention by the judges of the parade! Racism is rampant in this country and it reared its ugly head with the advent of the racist, bigoted, hate filled, corporate Tea Party in 2009. The cockroaches came out of the woodwork when Pres Obama was elected in 2008. Theyve multiplied exponentially over the ensuing six years and theyve become a blight on the very fabric of our society and this country.
