This man, Juan Camilo Zúñiga #18 deliberately struck a defenseless and unsuspecting Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, commonly known as Neymar or Neymar Jr. #10 fracturing three vertebraes in Neymars back after purposely colliding by driving his knee into Neymar. It has been reported that Neymar will not be able to continue his quest in pursuit of the Fifa winners trophy and is unable to play any further. It is sad that this transpired and it is a travesty and a disservice to the game the fact that the referee did not sanction the Colombian player by giving him a red card which would warrant an inmediate expulsion from the game. This did not happen and decisions need to be made in order to insure safety for players. Since earlier in the game Colombias players became frenzied and uncontrolled playing aggressively as if intending to hurt their opponents. After Brasil scored their first goal the assault started and after halftime the game became a gladiator game with Colombia pursuing Brasil. This is not the way to play but in the heat of the game their true character surfaced. It is our hope that Brasil prevails and wins to the end, however the future is uncertain and all we can do as fans is to hope that Brasil will join together to win despite the odds. Uruguay and now Colombia have tarnished a beautiful game by either biting and now purposely attacking other players. This is not fair play. We are outraged and extremely disappointed by this coward act. We hope that justice is pursued with strict consequences to send the message that this behavior is not acceptable. Go Brasil! #colombia #juancamilozuniga #neymarjr #selecaobrasileira #brasil #fifa #copabrasil2014
