This man gets it. As long as our education continues to be geared - TopicsExpress

This man gets it. As long as our education continues to be geared toward soft trades as career choices, our country will continue to become more dependent on foreign trade for goods we need. We cant import service after the sale. We need to implement a skilled trades initiative in New Mexico to elevate the status of dirty jobs that actually run this country. When I was in high school I was in an electronics class where we not only learned how radios and tvs worked, we actually fixed them for the public and the class program was funded by charging for the service. Now those items I used to repair are thrown away and replaced with another made overseas product. We have gotten so soft that we no longer produce products in this country we only consume. I am going to share this with our current governors staff to encourage New Mexico to elevate trade and vocational schools to the same level as colleges and universities in New Mexico. Otherwise we risk putting our future down a toilet no one knows how to fix.
