This man is formidable. Unlike every other Republican candidate - TopicsExpress

This man is formidable. Unlike every other Republican candidate Ive seen since 2007, I would not be mortified if this individual were elected president. He does not come-off as an incompetent, idiotic, ideologue. Hes relate-able. He seems reasonable. He can (easily) take back the middle. As I have a severe distrust of anything republican, I dont necessarily believe these are good things. I believe that America (very deservedly) put the republicans in time-out, sent them to their rooms, grounded them, (use whatever disciplinary metaphor you like), in response to the complete disaster that was eight years of W and Cheney. I believe Gov. Christie has the ability to change this status. And he will do so on the weight of his resume and his ideas. (PLEASE no fat jokes. Hes very well above those. attempting them will only make him look even more the-grown-up.) If the democrats are to remain in power, they must find a candidate with a track-record and they must address his ideas; They must adopt (or co-opt, if you prefer) the ones that they also believe will work (while giving credit where credit is due), and they must respectfully, intelligently, calmly, and cordially refute those they believe are in error. My worry is that if elected, Gov. Christie brings not only himself, but that same old republican apparatus, back to Penn. Ave. So this is important. The candidate to take on Gov. Christie needs to start now. Our ride on the W-Debacle is rapidly coming to an end. Time to get back to work. (please.) Anyone out there up to this challenge?
