Moments later, I find myself on the concrete with womans hand on my shoulder. Im embarassed. Pride is hurt. She walks me inside and takes a seat with me. I tell her why I am traveling and she shares shes been a single mother of three for over 40 years. I dont know about anyone else, but I can only imagine. As I get in my car I lean on the steering wheel and just let out all emotion. Parenting has no handbook. Its hard. Its stressful. Its tough. But thats the point! I can only speak for me but I made an obligation to my sons mother. I held my son on Feb. 18th, 2013 and made it a priority and duty to serve my son and make the sacrifice. I made a promise to myself to never give up. Never fail my child. No parent is alone. Were everywhere struggling. Youre not alone. By any means necessary, do whatever it takes for your child. Its no race. No prize given. No game. Its a life your responsible for that loves you unconditionally no matter your mistakes. You owe it to your child. I am no better than any other parent nor am i good father. I just love my son and take great pride in making his life happy and future bright. Every hard time is worth that smile on your childs face.
