This may not seem like a huge feat for most 2 year olds but for this little fighter, this is a huge accomplishment. I love to see the pride in her face and hear it in her laugh. It wont be long and she will be chasing everyone on 2 legs instead of the trademark Hazel scoot. Well this week we got word from Stanford that we have a date for surgery. February 2nd. Hazel will have her first state-side surgery which will (briefly paraphrased) repair the aneurysm in her heart and place some stents in her pulmonary arteries hopefully in order to help get more blood flow to her lungs and to grow her vessels. We will then recheck growth in 6 months. With enough growth hopefully we will be able to discuss repair options for sweet Hazel. We are praying for: health up to and during the surgery. Complication free pre-op and surgery; quick recovery and effective growth of her pulmonary arteries and get her off of the supplemental oxygen.
