This may ruffle some feathers........ But..... Id rather my sons have an appreciation for music that far exceeds your standard human that think Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, and Eminem are the be all, end all. Id rather see them appreciate the likes of David Bowie, Morrissey, Neil Young, and Pink Floyd than graduate at the top of an ivy league school. That might seem ridiculous, but Im so happy thats the way it worked for me. So.... Since day one.... Ive been playing my boys a lot of different music. They respond, but, most of the stuff I listen to is way above their heads. They are infants. I played Kai Elmos Song and he was intrigued. Just the way the rest of worlds kids are. I mean, its catchy, its Elmo....... Whats not to like??? But...... Its McDonalds. Tonight, I had a breakthrough with Kai. He responded to chord changes that I am so proud of. I played him a song I believe to be amazing, and he responded in a fashion that blew my mind. I pray and hope he hears notes the same way or better than his daddy does.
