This may very well be the first and only shot that we have to find - TopicsExpress

This may very well be the first and only shot that we have to find distribution and/or a viable market for That Guy: An Indie Film Project but I am planning on going out and making the most of it. When I first set out to make an indie film, the small group of friends that agreed to join in and help was very much a motley crew. By the time we had begun filming the scenes in South Carolina I knew that we were in for a challenge. Somewhere along the way we lost a few good people, and got rid of a few more that were either in this for the wrong reasons, or just couldnt mesh with the rest of us. I was able to bring in a DP who could help with the technical end as well as provide his own input and creative edge to the project. From the very beginning I had hoped to be able to do a casting and film on-location in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. It started out as a questionable idea to do a casting call in LA from 3,800 miles away and expect much, but the response was incredible. A simple Craigslist ad garnered a handful of talented actors/actresses, directors, acting coaches and PAs that were able to jump right in and make an impact during the LA shoots. We were able to get in seven key scenes (with no permits, no expectations, no great equipment, no hard plan) in a little more than five days. After taking three previous trips to the West Coast from South Carolina to scout and lay the groundwork, I still ended up flying by the seat of my pants. The end result is something that is unique, homegrown, unexpected and hopefully entertaining. So a huge thank you to so many people who made things happen. In a few weeks That Guy will be screened by some of the industries best, and I just hope they go gentle, I am a film making virgin....
