This message is for Rudolph Reece and anyone else with their head in the sand. Regarding the Duncanville High School teacher who went on a profoundly racist Twitter rant... Yes, it IS true that if a white teacher had called people ni**ers and crackers on Twitter she/he would have been almost instantly fired. And not just fired... chances are the DOJ might have even gotten involved to investigate what they would call possible civil rights violations. The fact that Vinita Hegwood hasnt been fired is reprehensible. And worse, the school put out a statement basically trying to wash their hands of it. Nowhere in their statement do they suggest there will be punishment for her actions. All they say is that the opinions were her own and not those of the school. Well, no crap sherlock. The school didnt need to explain those tweets were not official school tweets. Not a single person suggested such. But their response basically tries to make it all a personal matter and not one the school should be held responsible for. Im sorry the school is having to deal with this, but the fact is teachers DO represent the schools they teach at. And this teacher is a full on racist. And in my view, if the school doesnt fire her they are essentially just as guilty of it as she is for protecting her and making excuses for it in the process. Here is the schools FB page.
