This might be my favorite phone call ever at the paper, mostly because it was an old guy calling for his wife, and the whole time he sounded like he didnt want to be calling because somewhere deep down, he must have known how dumb as hell this was. Me: Newsroom, this is CB, how can I help you? Guy: Whos this now? Me: My names CB. Guy: Hey CB. I was wondering who it is up there that does the TV guide, they tried transferring me to Rosemary Boggs, then I talked to somebody else and got transferred around, youre about the fourth person Ive talked to so far. Me: Well sir, Rosemary Boggs is the one that does the TV guide, she might just not be in yet, maybe I can help you though, whats the issue? Guy: Well son, my wife really likes the show Young and the Restless, and here lately 9 out of 10 times, maybe not that often but it happens an awful lot, Obama breaks in with one of his special newscasts and cuts out 5 or 10 minutes of my wifes program and I was just wondering if yall ever play those shows again? Me: ...Sir...this is the Democrat Gazette...we dont actually have anything to do with the programming, we just print the TV guide in our paper. Guy: Well I figured you didnt, but my wife sure does get upset when she misses a piece of her show, and I was hopin since yall did the guide maybe you knew if they ever re-ran those shows. Me: I understand the frustration, but unfortunately as far as I know soaps are a one and done kind of deal. Youd have to call the station to complain about Obamas newscasts interrupting your programming, but I dont think theyre gonna stop the president making an emergency news update. Guy: Thats what I was afraid of, okay well Ill try giving the TV station a call. Me: Good luck sir. There it is...proof that Obama ruins everything :) haha.
