This month is my anniversary for donating bone marrow. In 2003 I donated to an unrelated recipient. I met him a couple of years later when I took a trip to visit him and his family in another part of the country (for confidentiality sake, I wont say where.) Best decision Ive ever made. And donating doesnt hurt as much as people think it does. Its no big deal and this dude doesnt have Leukemia any more. Score! He went from not being able to leave the living room of his mothers house to getting a great job and getting married. I matched a second time, but the recipient passed away before the donation could take place. Im sad to this day about that. If you have any questions, please ask. bethematch.org/
