This month marks the one year anniversary of Teds and my life as innkeepers. Last October, Irene White was the guinea pig for a test run of our brand spanking new short-term rental suite. (She was nice enough to invite me in for coffee the next morning.) A few days later, we had our first paying guests. Since then, weve had guests in the suite almost 150 nights. Weve had people from all over Texas and thirteen states. The end of this month well meet our first international visitors when a couple from London arrive for a weeks stay. Weve had folks celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and graduations, visiting Austin just for fun and on business. One guy stayed here while taking the Texas bar exam. We admired the FIVE pair of boots a couple from Seattle bought at Allens in SoCo. We had a couple from Cedar Park who were leaving their three month old for the first time, and some people from Louisiana who were on their way home after delivering a rescue dog to his new people in Dallas. Two women who became best friends while their husbands were stationed at Fort Hood and who now live in two different states were with us last weekend for ACL, and last month we had a couple spending their last four days together before he deployed for the Middle East. We clean a lot and stock a lot of Shiner Bock and weve met the nicest people. So happy birthday, Eleven Oaks Suite, and heres to the next 150 nights!
