This morning I awoke to news I was not ready to take. We lost a beautiful soul to a series of medical issues that came on too fast for anyone to handle. I ask all of you to say a prayer for the Davis family, who I consider my immediate family. I didnt lose a person that I grew into knowing through marriage. I lost a woman who took me in as family long before I asked for Leslee Rea Shaws hand in marriage. I was not bonded by blood with her, but I was bonded with love. Shes took part in raising every single child, grandchild, and great grandchild in her family. Betty was a kind, loving, and accepting woman. She would do anything, for anyone. She would take your burdens and make them her own. She had the heart and power of love that I will model my children into having. She held no judgment of anyone, no matter their past. She had a love with Truman that was unbreakable and a love for her family that was unstoppable. Im not an emotional person in the fact of showing it. But, my heart is broken today. It is broken for myself, my wife, my children, and for the Davis family who had made me one of their own. I love all of you. Rest in peace, Meemaw. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know and love you.
