This morning I discovered that my sweet mama Kitty Nissi had crossed over the Rainbow Bridge as they say. Completely unexpected - no idea what happened. She was totally fine yesterday. She was the truly best pet Ive ever had -- Ive never shared a bond with an animal like I had with her. She slept with me every night and part of her always had to be touching part of me -- sometimes shed reach out her paws and place them on my face and wed fall asleep like that. She came every time I called - more like a dog than a cat. She greeted me everyday when I came home from work -- either running down the path and then rolling over on her tummy so I could pet her in the warmer months, or tearing down the stairs to greet me during the colder months when she had to be inside. She was a stray -- showed up on our porch one August and stole my heart away. Yesterday she climbed all over me (as usual) while I was outside trying to read my bible. I was tempted to push her away and then I thought to myself, What if God did that to me when all I wanted to do was be with Him? So I put aside my bible and journal, picked her up and said, Im gonna hold you until you want to get down. And so we sat like that for about 10 minutes --- God knew I would need that memory today! Gonna miss her terribly.
