This morning, I had a date with my son..... for some necessary documents he needed. With Italian bureaucracy, it is always a long procedure to have things done! I had some good learnings today.... especially how we as parents, love our children. We must leave them space and time to learn what responsibility for self is all about. We cannot go on doing things for them, spoon-feeding them like the infants or the sickly!,just because IT IS OUR NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THEM, or IT IS OUR NEED TO MANIFEST OUR LOVE and PROTECT THEM, and as a mother, i know very well that urging, I WANNA DO IT ALL FOR YOU, even to sacrifice myself for you! as a parent, we must evaluate also how far our children can go according to their abilities.... if we cripple them now by doing all things for them... how will they be able to learn and practice and discover their strengths and weaknesses in lifes battles? remember, parents.... we are much more older... and we cant stay with them more that we desire, for time is not ours to make.... it is very important to leave a legacy ---- of virtue, of the basic principles in life, the sense of responsibility, the Christian values... and it is our duty not to leave our children unequipped in facing life.... for it is not easy for everyone. I believe.... guiding our children to learn the very basics of life and love, is the greatest inheritance we can ever leave them!
