This morning I made a post about something that mentioned Council and applications for development. It wasnt long before someone brought up the fact that Im a councillor, and should have declared a conflict of interest. Over a photo of a clown. I said Id continue to keep this page running despite me being elected. Ive tried to keep this page as one that represents the community, and informs them. Any views expressed here have been my own personal views. Ive made a couple of posts informing people that I had nominated for council, but aside from that, Ive kept this page and anything related to me being on council - separate. But it seems the fact that Im on council is being constantly bought up whenever I mention anything, so because of this - I will be cutting back some of the content I post. I will no longer be posting anything related to council (which is a very broad category) except if its something that another news source (ABC, Border Watch etc) has already posted - and I will share it directly from them, without any input from myself. I guess I should have expected this to be an issue, as it seems especially when it comes to the internet - everyone has an opinion and wants to express it. If you wish to contact me with any issues, concerns or queries regarding council - please do so privately and Ill be more than happy to help in any way I can. My only focus with this page is to keep the people of the Limestone Coast and abroad informed about whats going on in our incredible region. I will continue this, but will be somewhat restricted, as Ive realised some people will pick at anything and make sure I know theyre not happy about it. I want to avoid those issues occurring.
