This morning as I delved into my study of John by Beth Moore, the passages were Mark 10:35-45. As I started reading I reflect on a time not too long ago when I was chatting with my Pastor. Time had passed and he asked me “Who sits on the right hand side of God”? Well I mean to tell you I was taken a bit back. I had no idea where this came from because we had just been talking about how I marinate pork roast in mojo and stuff with garlic for Cuban style pork. But there it was…laid in my lap, I paused for a moment to think about it not really racking my brain or anything and simply said “well I believe that anyone has the chance to sit there, if it’s where they strive to be”. (Or something to that effect). After reading the scripture I kinda figured well, I wasn’t too far off I suppose. We all have our goals in life, we all strive to be the best we can be. But are we striving to be the best God wants us to be? That is the question. I like to think I do but I fall short time after time, I am human, I make mistakes. God wants us to humble ourselves to become not only servants but to be served by others. When we decline the help or gift of someone that wants to do something for us, we are not allowing them to be what God wants them to be, and vice verso. This is something I struggle with a lot in my life, I am a natural born servant, I want to help you, but please…don’t help me, I can do it myself. I am so wrong about this and am working on it daily. I would hope that when the day comes and I walk through those pearly gates that I will have that moment of time to sit next to Jesus and chat with Him. I would like to think he would say to me, “Why hello Suzie, I’m so glad you are home. I know it’s been an uphill battle, but I also know that you knew all along that I was by your side”. Then I’ll get up to mingle with the masses to allow Him to chat with His next child. If you do nothing else today, allow someone to bless you with their gifts. Have a wonderful and blessed day my friends! :-)
