This morning early was a very humbling event for myself. I have been picking this homeless man up when I have extra for years now and this morning he finally tells me a little bit about his life because I never asked before.. Until today... He said to me that he was a great athlete, handsome, and caring and never expected to be walking around lost in his own mind after the night with his family (20 years ago)... One night he was having drinks with friends and family when someone put something in his drink and ever since that night he has been digging in trash cans and picking up anything to make a buck. After 2 years of dealing with this man I finally broke through. Right before I dropped him off I gave him money (not much) and said Ill find you as always friend... Not everyone on the street is a bum, they have feelings, they are sleeping on dirt, wet grass, concrete, eating out of the trash.. (SURVIVING)... He is still a kind soul, and he is courteous.. Today I pray for all the homeless.. He was free for 30 minutes while riding with me... I even had him smile.. Thank you lord for this day.. My troubles are nothing compared to my lost street warrior..... #RealStrengthOnTheStreet
