This morning the NO campaign has plunged to new depths along with the Mass Media in Scotland. They have now begun a focus on forcing the Scottish Govt to state a position on ISIS and are using the horrific situation of David Haines being held hostage by militants for political capital. I personally do not care which way David Haines and his family intend to vote. I do though care that everything that can be done to secure his release is done and that it is carried out within international law. We know that both campaigns held off during the Commonwealth Games where medals were at sake. We now have a mans life at stake and they must absolutely call off the media and let the diplomatic process progress to try and secure Mr Haines safe release. Other hostages have been released so it is absolutely not a hopeless situation. In terms of an armed response if that is the will of the UN then so be it BUT we cannot have once again the USA and the UK taking action illegally in Iraq and especially not to make political gain in the referendum. Please - whatever way you intend to vote if your Sunday or daily newspaper is publishing articles appertaining to linking David Haines situation to the referendum I urge you, out of common decency, to condemn them on their Facebook and web feeds.
