This morning was pretty uneventful. It ended up being quite a bit colder than I expected, but Flip loaned me his vest...which was huge and came down to my knees! But I was still thankful. :) We spoke to a couple in a car using his hand-held mic for a while. The girl was struggling with her conscience, but then the guy finally got out of his truck and started walking with her following. I told her that this man does not love her if he will not even respect her enough to walk with her. We had a car full of probably college-aged girls drive past and angrily yell out their window about a womans right to choose and I used the opportunity to tell the women inside the building the irony of this statement. What choice does the tiny girl...someday to be a woman...have in this matter? Doesnt she have just as much a right to live? Not many interactions this morning...but not many in the lot, either! Thank you for praying! Afterward I was able to stop by the shelter and visit with Hawa for about an hour...time I had free since my next stop was the home of friends who were not there yet. She has sounded discouraged to me on the phone and now I can see why. It is a nice shelter and lots of women there to befriend, but without any ability to read, she just sits all day. I dont think they have a whole lot of activities. I am praying that she can learn to read and write English! We couldnt get WiFi for her phone in order to download a Bible app with audio, so I decided to just record a few verses and passages for her to listen to. Im thinking it might be more meaningful to her since they are in my voice, too. Please continue to pray that the shelter can find housing for her, but more importantly that she finds Christ! Pray that we can have more conversations about the Gospel and that I can understand her. It was not too hard today. God has her in a place where she has lots of time to think and I am praying she completely turns to Him!
