This morning we went for our usual sunrise bicycle ride, journeying along nature’s vast and diverse array of fauna and flora. Invigorating, refreshing and inspiring, is how I would describe it. How blessed I am to be here! And as I pedaled along acknowledging the different manifestations of beauty coexisting simultaneously and in enchanting harmony, I wondered, what is it that people fear so much about the other? Why is it that we rejoice when we see variance in nature, wild-life, landscape... but when the differences are between us, we punish each other and give each other such a miserable time? My Facebook is a reflection of the rainbow of friendships that exists in my life. My capacity to love is not limited to only those who resemble me in my upbringing, culture, physical features or set of ideas. My travels have taken me to interact with people from all walks of life and I celebrate that each one of you is able to bring to my life new perspectives, and when we differ, which we often do, you teach me the value of tolerance. You make me grow. How boring life would be if we were all the same. I rejoice the richness that lies within our diverseness as it manifests itself in conjunction with our biggest similarity which is our capacity to love boundlessly, and in and of itself should be the most powerful unifying force.
