This my friends is a prime example of know who your hiring for your projects. This family was taken advantage of by a person who claimed to be a legit contractor. They came, took a deposit, started demo, and never came back leaving them with a huge mess and an unfinished project. Before hiring a contractor for an expensive project make sure they are registered, licensed, and insured. Ask for references from previous customers that had the same type of work done.
