This needs to go viral! Wonder if we can find Spottys owners in time! Please share! To whom it may concern: I am writing this, not as a rescuer, but as one fur mom to another. I understand that you felt you had no other options but to surrender sweet Spotty to the shelter, thinking, I am sure, that they would allow her to cross the rainbow bridge and feel no more pain. Sadly, that is not how it is done with shelters and your young daughter realized that sweet Spotty would continue to suffer and eventually die alone on a cold shelter floor. I began, with the help of the Doctor, to slowly put the pieces of Spottys circumstances together. Spotty has a white cell count of over 600,00, which neither he nor the lab has ever seen. They re ran the test in hopes it was a mistake, however they found the same results. It was confirmed that Spotty has advanced Leukemia, which I suspect you knew and felt helpless. I realize Spotty did not waste away like this in the last few weeks or even months, so I believe you were told either there was nothing that could be done OR the treatment to help her was far to expensive for your family to afford. I believe in my heart, you did the best you could, and took her home to care for her until she got critical and you felt you had no other options or place to go for help. It breaks my heart to think that this sweet girl had a family that I believe loved her for all those years and now she finds herself wondering where the only humans she ever loved have gone I want to ease your mind and your daughters and let you know that I rescued Spotty from the shelter and although she is very ill and does not have much time, I believe she is waiting for your return so she can say good bye and I would like to help her find you. I promise you I am not here to judge, ask for any money or condemn you, I would just like to let Spotty have a day in the sun with you and your daughter. If you cannot bear to be there when she crosses, I will respect that, and please take comfort in knowing, she will not be alone. If however you feel you would like to hold her, kiss her and let her know how much she was loved as she closes her eyes, I will be there for you with open arms to comfort you in your loss. Spotty is comfortable right now, she is eating and drinking and even wagging her tail, and most importantly, her eyes continue to search for her loving humans. I cant imagine the pain and the sorrow and the wondering you and your family must be going through, however on Spottys behalf, I would like, if possible to reunite you and let her enjoy a very special day in the sun. She was very loved, we can see that , so please, if you can, do not hesitate to contact me so we can arrange this very special reunion. She is safe, she is being cared for, she is loved and she knows how much her life matters. Please, please do not let her leave us wondering . She gave you 15-17 years of devotion and unconditional love, Can you give her just 1 more day?
