This new eligibility criteria for the appointment of the Attorney - TopicsExpress

This new eligibility criteria for the appointment of the Attorney General is good, I think, but I dont understand why our National Council is in so favor of age rather than wisdom and intelligence, which are not always mutually inclusive. They have made 10 years for National Councillors; now they are making 15 years for the Attorney General. Do we really need old people to be on the top? Is it really necessary? Are they really more capable and experienced and foresighted than their younger peers? If the Office of Attorney General Bill of Bhutan 2014 is passed by Parliament, a person eligible for appointment as the attorney general will have to be..... 1. In the government or public service for a minimum of 15 years. 2. The person should also be from among eminent jurists. 3. Have a LLB degree from an institution of repute recognised by the government. 4. Not be married to a foreigner. 5. Have no political affiliation 6. Not have been terminated or compulsorily retired from the government or public service on disciplinary grounds. kuenselonline/tweaking-eligibility-criteria-for-attorney-general/#.U38dm9FXDUc
