This note below was sent home last week with Mt. Peak students. Tomorrow (Thursday) the whole campus will participate in a House Warming Party. All houses will be introduced. Purpose and goals will be reviewed. Cheers will be learned!!! We are asking that students and teacher wear their house color tomorrow!!! Dear Mt. Peak Parents, This year, our school is working on developing a sense of community and camaraderie by dividing students and faculty/staff into four “Houses”. Working together these ‘Houses’ will earn “House Points” to be recognized as the Top House. The Top House will earn celebrations throughout the year. How are points earned? Here are a few samples: -Shining in the hallway -Going above and beyond -Helping others -Filling buckets -Manners -Lunch behavior -Sportsmanship Points can be earned from ANY faculty/staff in the building and will be tallied throughout the year. The houses are: Voyagers (Yellow), Explorers (Red), Adventurers (Green), and Navigators (Blue). Today, each student drew a colored bracelet. Students will remain in the house that they drew for their entire Mt. Peak career!! New students will draw bracelets on the day of their enrollment and will have an instant family as they are welcomed into our school. We are excited about this new program and the goal is that it increases the already fabulous sense of family at Mt. Peak. (This idea came from Ron Clark who is an educator and author. The Ron Clark Academy, is a private non-profit school in Atlanta, Georgia where students follow a unique curriculum.) Karen Childers Principal, Mt. Peak
