This one is for those of you who do not know our honorary mustang, Mr. Ranger. While responding to a plea from the BLM to help out an abandoned mustang (Scout) nearby, this little big guy, in need of a home, just happened to be in the right place, at the right time - (or maybe we were)? Once we looked into his big dark eyes we knew we could not leave him behind so we decided to allow him to babysit Scout for the ride home to ease the stress level. Little did we know that day, that Ranger would become The Pryor Herds honorary stallion leader. He has been by their side ever since they came in, protecting and leading them safely and calmly into the human world. When little Nation (son of Kelly) was born he proudly wore the daddy title and yes, Nation has taken on many of his characteristics. I think we can all tell by this video that Ranger is quite content and peaceful with his Pryor family in their new setting with the big sanctuary herd;-) Ranger is just one of our domestics rescued from a life with no meaning, finding their purpose teaching the once wild horses that the human world is not always scary. We like to call them the social bugs. They play a vital role in our mission of returning dignity to those horses who have lost their freedom and their families. Thank you Mr. Ranger for embracing your role so boldly and brilliantly. Your life has much purpose now. Have peace knowing that you are in your forever home.
