This one seemed a bit strange and I wondered what it had to do - TopicsExpress

This one seemed a bit strange and I wondered what it had to do with Lectio Divina, but as I listened a bit more to the unusual sound, it grew on me. The song could easily become a kind of Lectio Divina in song as one gently sang it over repeatedly, perhaps stopping now and then to drink in particular aspects, to reflect and simply be, in the atmosphere that the words have somehow left with us. Also to turn them into springboards for dialogue with the Lord. I would say that there are so many ways that we can be creative with how we do Lectio Divina, and related things, so that it always remains fresh. When we start and we are learning it can be fairly mechanical, but ultimately, like when we have learnt to drive a car, it will hopefully become part of us. Each component will flow naturally. It will also flowing into our everyday lives in mindfulness of the words that we have read, as well as mindfulness of the Lords presence as well as speaking to us in many other ways. For instance when monks or nuns are doing chores around the monastery and other manual work of various kinds, it could be seen as an interruption of their prayer. It will not be, because their worship in church as well as the silence of their quiet times of solitary prayer, including Lectio Divina will be bearing fruit in their prayerful reflection, praise and prayer while they are busy at work. This is just as Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection, (of the Practise of the Presence of God), experienced it among the pots and pans, or with his sandal making tools.
