This part of one of my assignments in class. I interviewed a really sweet little girl (pregnant with her second child) who wants to learn EH so she can work in a resort here. Playa del Carma is the fastest growing town in MX, having gone from 16,000 to over 150,000 in the last 20 years, with most of that coming in the last 10. Lots and lots of people like this girl, coming here for opportunities afforded by the tourist industry. I enjoy this about a much as any job I have ever had. Mexican people are some of the kindest, most polite and sweet people I have ever met. I will write about the Zetas and the drug lords (they are DEFINITELY here in Cancun/Playa) later, but I just need to say it is not the wild shoot em up haven of death that the US media portrays MX.
