This past Saturday, September 27, the Warren Warriors Band - TopicsExpress

This past Saturday, September 27, the Warren Warriors Band traveled early in the morning to Round Rock to participate in the Bands of America (BOA) Competition. This trip was after being at the Warren vs Holmes football game the night before with all of the time spent under the stadium seats because of the rain. The competition on Saturday was also the first time the Band used the props – nine eleven feet tall pieces which were to be on the back side of the field and the band and 14 not as big but still longer pieces which were on the front side of the field and the band. Moving these props as well as the usual amount of equipment and larger instruments from the pit area and sound equipment is no easy task. We are so fortunate to have the Warren Band Roadies who help out with this part of the “show.” Their slogan says “Moving the band, one piece at a time” but this time it involved extra pieces. Therefore, the “Band Booster Volunteer Recognition” goes to the Roadies as well as others who pitched in during this past Saturday. We don’t have photos of these volunteers in action but here are their names who helped out that Saturday: Towing trailers with personal vehicles: Roger Perez Richard Fanara Roadies: Brenda and Steve Zachmeyer Elisa Tellez Cynthia Vara Margie Hernandez Storm Maldonado Wendy Johnson James Johnson Roger Perez Charlie Mandujan Joe Piriz Ryan Neuman Charles Neuman Richard Fanara Patty and Anthony Deleon Juan Garcia Tony Troutman George Diaz Bryan Guajardo Celia Lopez-Neuman Cindy Maldonado Gayle Trotman Monika Garcia Gilbert Lopez All of these people did an excellent job in handling Roadie duties as well as helping out with other duties. Sometimes being a volunteer will necessitate doing other things when needed; that is what makes all our Boosters so special. And then of course there’s Christie Tran who does almost everything wherever she is needed. Everyone knows how she plays an integral part of the band’s success. A big THANK YOU goes to her. Now, we don’t want to minimize the importance of all the Booster volunteers who help out every day and night whether it’s a football game or a competition. Without each and every one of you, the Warrior Band could not function properly. A gigantic THANK YOU to EVERY BOOSTER VOLUNTEER!
