This past Sunday I preached a message with the title You never know about how fragile life is and you never know what a day holds and who may or may not be here at the end of the day. Today I find myself reflecting back to a day I would love to forget or better yet never have experienced. October 7, 2008 started like any other day but ended with me standing by my mother as we grieved for the death of my oldest brother. Never in a million years would I have thought he would choose to take his own life. Some may ask why would you choose to put the way he died in this post. The reason is very simple. If you are taking the time to read this please understand that suicide does not end or solve anything. Six years later and I still remember my familys tears and agony as we asked the questions of why? or what could we have done? Six years later this day still hurts and brings back a flood of emotions for our family. May I close this out by begging you or anyone you may know contemplating suicide. Please understand that it solves nothing. You are gone and the family and friends are left with more questions than answers. We grieve for your death and at the same time question ourselves all the time if there was something we missed or could have done. In the end it doesnt get easier and the hurt and tears are still present today just as they were six years ago. I love and loved you Kenny and miss you and Joshua has never forgotten you and still has your blanket!!
