This past spring I introduced legislation with Rep. Derek Kilmer to make the Department of Defense information technology systems more secure, more efficient and less expensive to maintain by requiring a full assessment of cloud capabilities. Our efforts have helped bring about a change in policy at the DOD and a new set of pilot programs set to begin in the coming weeks. I applaud them for moving forward and I will continue to monitor the implementation. Bottom line – the security of our military’s sensitive information will be enhanced by these actions while saving taxpayer money.
