This past week has been a meat grinder, physically and emotionally. As Operation Blessing is winding down here in Moore, Ok. Physically the work has been hard with high humidity and high heat, long hours (I put in 85 working hours this past week). On thursday morning we started with an empty backyard of the Legg family. By the end of the day despite dire forecasts of mega rain, the Operation Blessing team and volunteers built a healing garden, swing set, repainted a small barn, furnished a patio with a grill and patio furniture. The Legg family lost a son, Christopher, at the Plaza Elementary School. They were totally blown away and blessed by the backyard makeover. On friday with literally minutes to spare the team completed a remodel of a house for a single father with two boys whose house had been flooded during the storms. Today was the last Sunday with my Moore church family at Highland Avenue Baptist Church with an message from Pastor Dave Evans and an awesome testimony. Later that evening we all went to the movies and saw Planes. Realizing that I have made lifetime friends that I may never see again until we are all in heaven, has made me a little emotional, but I have been totally blessed by my coworkers, the volunteers and those we intended to bless; but walked away being blessed to overflowing.....I guess I am just overflowing...
