This past week will forever be one of the most significant times of my life. The pain and sorrow was unbearable at times. Yet, although we lost a great man in our family in my Uncle Joe, I could have never anticipated what would transpire over the past couple days. Since coming to Massachusetts to mourn the loss, our family has grown exponentially. We did lose someone (and a damn good man he was), but weve gained many, many more. From all our new brothers and sisters in the Kingston Police Department, the wonderful friends of Joe that are now aunts and uncles to us, to the long lost family members we were finally able to meet, my heart is bigger and warmer now than ever in my life. I came here with tears in my eyes and now leave with a calm sense of happiness. Thank you to everyone that was involved with honoring my Uncle and giving him the best possible send off anyone could have ever put together. I rest easy because I know we all did him proud. To Chief Joseph Rebello, aloha my Uncle. Love and miss ya. See you on the other side.
