This past weekend I competed at the Weightlifting Wise - TopicsExpress

This past weekend I competed at the Weightlifting Wise Championships. My first meet since my myriad of injuries that started a year ago. My only goal for this meet was DO NOT INJURE YOURSELF! I exceeded that low expectation. To follow is my recap and my thanks. I didnt grow up in this sport, so I learned about meets by going and watching and reading all the rules: ALL the rules. I coach USAW L1 coaches and want them to get the experience of counting attempts so I had one be my meet coach. I still did some of the work, but him there meant I didnt have to get up every time I wanted to check the order. He also kept track of the clock. Thank you Travis. David- loaded my bar. HUGE burden off of me. Seems so small, but that is huge for someone with a jacked up wrist. Dave also is the one that made the call of me not going to win the meet and already got 93 on snatch so I might as well go for 100. Good call, Dave. Dr. Zach and Coach Cheyenne, I feel safer when they are there. When you are as medically messed up as be, you feel better when people know your history. Damn near my whole team showed up to watch. Yall there, plus seeing Nevels snatch 120 earlier is the reason I was so aggressive on 100. All of Golds Gym Austin North was there. Even if you think I didnt see you, I saw you. I just had to tune everything out to focus on the barbell. Now, I just need my wrist to heal a little bit more to handle the turnover on my cleans. Thanks to you all. Thank you, Ursula and to all of your volunteers to make that such a smooth meet. (Sorry Colleen if I was bugging the hell out of you).
