This past weekend I lost a brother. Durrell Finley is my first cousin, but we grew up together and were as close as brothers. Im sad to see him go so soon, and not be able to bring my family to outrageous laughter that he did. Although from the ignorant perspective they would see a young man with a criminal background and numerous cases of trouble. HOWEVER, through the eyes of our Family and Friends we knew him for the genuinely caring and cheerful person he was. We knew his complications, we knew his obstacles, but most of all we knew his personality. Although he had some unorthodox was to his character that never opposed that great personality that he had. My heart aches in this grieving and I dont know how long it will take for me to understand this loss, but I can promise this; I will try to the best of my ability to keep your legacy alive, Your daughter Darla Finley and my son Kendall Spiller Jr. will know who you were. They will find laughter and warmth in the stories and find joy and pride in knowing the man you were working to become. I Love You Big Cousin, I KNOW your mom (Auntie Darlene) and our dear Grandma Hattie have some words for you child. LoL -Know that you were, are, and will always be loved and missed.
