This past weekend was surreal....The highest of highs, to the lowest of lows,physically and emotionally exhausting. I thought I had an appreciation for teamwork before. The support I experienced from both my extraordinary team, and complete strangers blew my prior concept out of the water.In the midst of the storm, as I sat crying in the Vet ER having been told that Henry had arrested and they were unable to resuscitate, a young man ~the vet assistant,entered the room.He saw my bib number scrawled on my arm. Recognition washed over his face. He pulled his scrub sleeve up, exposing his own bib #. " You ran yesterday? I did too.." fist-bump. "Way to be, brother". I knew I was in good hands. People who do this are connected. People who observe it share in that connection. Trials in our lives are made easier by those connections, and my experiences this past weekend are proof positive of that.Words simply will not do justice to express my gratitude to you all, so I will simply say Thank You
